THE LOWMAN PIPELINE PROJECT

About the Project

The Lowman Pipeline is a proposed approximately 51 mile natural gas pipeline in Southwest Alabama that will supply clean-burning natural gas to the Lowman Energy Center, a newly constructed gas fired power plant owned by PowerSouth Energy Cooperative and expected to be in service in mid-2023. As an intrastate pipeline, the project will be regulated by the Alabama Public Service Commission and permitted by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The Lowman Pipeline will be developed, constructed, owned and operated by a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, Inc.
